If hes not claimed by another NHL team, Liles could be assigned to the AHLs Toronto Marlies. The 32-year-old has a US$3.875-million salary-cap hit. If hes sent to the minors, $925,000 of that would come off the Leafs cap under the new collective bargaining agreement. Liles said after the Leafs pre-season finale Saturday night that he would just "hang out" while waiting for an update on his status.
